Dreamweaver CS4 Digital Classroom is like having a personal instructor guiding readers through each lesson, while they work at their own pace. This book includes 13 self-paced lessons that let readers discover essential skills and explore new features and capabilities of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4. Each lesson is presented in full color with step-by-step instructions. Learning is reinforced with video tutorials and lesson files on a companion DVD that were developed by the same team of Adobe Certified Instructors and Dreamweaver experts who have created many of the official training titles for Adobe Systems. Each video tutorial is approximately five minutes long and demonstrates and explains the concepts and features covered in the lesson. This training package demonstrates how to design, develop, and maintain a fully functioning Web site. Coverage includes applying style sheets, using dynamic HTML, adding style with images and multimedia, publishing and maintaining a web site, using hyperlinks to navigate throughout a website or link to other sites on the Internet, and using databases to create dynamic websites. Jam-packed with information, this book takes users from the basics through intermediate level topics and helps readers find the information they need in a clear, approachable manner. Note: CD-ROM/DVD and other supplementary materials are not included as part of eBook file.

Customer Rating: Summary: learned a lot Comment: this is a great book to teach DW CS4. although you ought to look at DW CS5 tutorial books now. good buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty good for beginners Comment: I would say I started the book with some pretty decent knowledge of Dreamweaver that I picked up just learning it on my own. I was tired of doing things half-assed so I decided to buy this book and learn how to do things the right way. The book seems a little skewed toward Mac users, and there are a few sequences of events that do not make sense (steps they give you that might be grayed out or they tell you to choose a menu item that isn't there). I assume this occurs because they primarily use the Mac version, and I have the Windows version on my pc.
All in all I like the book and I learned a decent amount. The first 4-5 chapters are boring if you know a little about Dreamweaver, but hang in there, it gets better. I especially like the chapter about spry widgets. I wish it went a little more in depth about making CSS pages from scratch though.
Customer Rating: Summary: Easy and helpful Comment: I used DreamWeaver years ago and had forgotten a lot, and also wanted to know how website creation had changed. Had never used CSS. This book took me through, step by step, in a way that was easy to understand and readily adaptable. I also bought "Dreamweaver CS4: The Missing Manual" for a more in-depth encyclopedia. I'd recommend both books for a complete resource --this one to get you started fast, the Missing Manual to answer all your questions in the future.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rather Decent Book... Comment: Nothing too spectacular to say about this book. I was not bad. It did help in familiarizing me with Dreamweaver. It had a easy to follow format that allowed you focus on learning about the application without all the extra info. However, it was easy to get that extra info when you were interested in knowing more.
My only complaint was that as you made it further along in the lessons, some instructions seemed vague, which made it hard to determine what needed to be done to yield a particular result. The good news is by that time you would normally be pretty well exposed to the program and comfortable enough to play around and find what you were looking for.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great book, poor packaging Comment: Pros
My students really liked this training manual. The accompaning videos were very good.
Cons
The div box section was a little weak. Because of poor packaging, the book arrived with a bent cover.
